Le Marche has 15 DOC wines, a wine for every hill: * Rosso Conero, Rosso Piceno, Macerata Hills, Vernaccia di Serra Petrona, Falerio, Bianchello, Bianco and Rosso dei Colli Pesaresi, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Verdicchio di Matelica, Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, the Esino Offida, the Pergola and Land of San Severino.
Rosso Conero: the promontory of Conero is a paradox geological rolled into the Adriatic Sea on the day when Earth’s magma emerged from the Apennines. Paradoxically it was thus created in the sea a wonderful environment for the cultivation of red grapes. A microclimate continually refreshed by sea breezes and a calcareous soil, poor but well-structured, allowing the grape to express di Montepulciano Rosso Conero in a typical impossible elsewhere. Along the way, Rosso Conero the traveler who face off between broom, arbutus and privet, can discover the small vineyards that now silently clinging to inaccessible cliffs, now lying voluptuously on rolling hills, make every Rosso Conero deserves to be a cru * discovered and tasted the beautiful wineries that dot the area.
